Explore stunning Strangford Lough, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, from a unique perspective with 115 miles of coastline and an Island to explore for everyday of the year, an immersive experience never to be forgotten. Trips are also available on the very easily accessible Belfast Lough or, as a mobile company, we can offer kayaking in Northern Ireland –  anywhere on sea or inland waters.

Escorted by one of our qualified, experienced guides who will be happy to coach the most nervous beginners or challenge the experienced paddler, tell us what you would like for your own bespoke, relaxing or exhilarating session or join a group and meet some locals.

On the day your guide will help you to explore with local knowledge and skills to share. On Strangford Lough, you could pass the old oyster farm on Sketrick Island, see the Ballydorn Light Ship up close, paddle through the fast currents at Daft Eddies, or the tidal flows at the Narrows. Watch the wildlife – through the changing seasons look out for seal pups or Brent geese and take time to explore some of the many islands or stop for a bite to eat. You might even want to try your hand at fishing.

What to expect

Normally meeting at Whiterock Killinchy, Northern Ireland at 6.30pm for our evening sessions, enjoy a relaxing paddle on the beautiful Strangford Lough for roughly 2 hours of paddling depending on weather conditions.

All equipment is provided by Mobile Team Adventure; individuals will need to wear warm comfortable clothing, and suitable footwear that may get wet. Bring a change of clothes with you, just in case. A windproof jacket is recommended, as it can get very windy and cold on the water. We do not recommend wetsuits as they can be restrictive, unless you plan on lots of swimming!

A sea kayak is a kayak developed for the sport of paddling on open waters of lakes, bays, and the ocean. They trade off the extreme maneuverability of whitewater kayaks for cargo capacity, ease of straight-line paddling, and comfort for long journeys. Sea kayaks can accommodate paddlers together with room for camping gear, food, water, and other supplies. Our single Pyranha Sea Kayaks are perfect for kayaking in Northern Ireland and do not have rudders but do have a skeg, we’ll teach you all about this when we meet.

An Experience not to be forgotten

Double sea kayaks (two person) provided by Mobile Team Adventure do have rudders and are suitable for all abilities, you can indulge in a relaxing tour watching wildlife and soaking up the scenery – Northern Ireland is a paddling paradise.

Strangford Lough is one of our favourite locations for canoeing and kayaking. You have so many options to explore and be rewarded with an abundance of marine creatures, astonishing scenery, uninhabited islands and beautiful wildlife. We can also offer an overnight staying in a bothy on Salt Island owned by the National Trust. You never know, you might even wake up with a sheep next to you or whilst kayaking get a seal or porpoise popping up beside you!
